AU in which Kurt, Blaine and Rachel live together in New York and Kurt and Blaine come up with a plan to get Finn and Rachel back together after an year of being apart.
Music blasting from the stereo, dancing to his favorite song, Kurt laying on their bed, it was definitely a good day for Blaine.
He kept dancing, not caring about how ridiculous he might have looked as long as Kurt kept staring at him.
His staring was quite intense so Blaine blurted out “What’s wrong, Kurt?”
“It’ Finn and Rachel, it’s been over an year and they’re both still so miserable, and now Finn is coming to visit me and I don’t know what to do.”
"I know it’s been over an year and Rachel has not dated anyone since then despite the fact that she seems quite popular here in the city.” Blaine replied turning off the radio and hopping on the bed.
"Finn hasn’t dated either, Carole keeps telling me how she tried to get him to date but he refuses."
"Set up a meeting, if the spark is still there then they’ll have another shot." Blaine offered.
"And everybody live happily ever after?" Kurt mocked him.
"Exactly!" Blaine replied with a kiss.
“Here’s the plan, I’m gonna take Rachel out to breakfast tomorrow while you pick up Finn from the airport, I’m gonna try to talk to her to see if there’s any doubt left and then I’ll send her home where you’ll have her dressed as I’ve decided.” Kurt instructed.
“What about Finn then?”
"You’ll come up with an excuse to ditch him at Central Park then I’ll ask him to wait for me there." Kurt explained easily.
“Operation Finchel is a go!" Blaine said with a huge smile.
"Finchel? Really, Blaine? It was bad enough when Figgins used it no need for you to keep doing it" Kurt complained.
Blaine didn’t reply, he simply tackled Kurt and he started tickling him until Kurt begged forgiveness and they switched to lazy kisses instead.
Kurt had it all planned out, he was gonna recreate Finn and Rachel reunion from junior year, she would never shut up about it and he figured it’d please her to homage something so romantic for her.
First he took her out to breakfast where he subtly brought up the subject “It’s a beautiful day, the kind of day you could fall in love with the first guy you meet, no?”
Rachel rolled her eyes, took a deep breath and she started with one of her rant "I don’t wanna fall in love, I’m already in love and it hurts, Kurt, I can’t think about Finn without feeling a hole in my heart."
"That hole won’t be there forever, Blaine and I are gonna make sure of that." Kurt replied barely fighting the smile appearing on his face.
“No blind dates Kurt, no dates period. I don’t need any distractions, the only good thing about this heartache is that I can focus on killing my competition at NYADA" Rachel explained.
Kurt’s phone rang and he quickly read the text Blaine had sent him confirming that Finn had arrived and that he was gonna drop him off soon.
“Go home, Blaine has something for you, I’ll text you later for a meeting, okay?" Kurt informed her and then he walked away.
“Blaine, are you home?" Rachel asked as soon as she set foot in the house. Not receiving a reply she made her way to her bedroom where she found a blue light blue dress over his bed with a note that said ‘Kurt said to wear this for your meeting, I’m running late so I couldn’t wait for you. Love, Blaine’.
She picked up the dress, fighting the tears at that thought of the occasion she had that same dress in that city; she got a shower, slipped into the dress, applied a light layer of makeup.
Her phone buzzed: ‘Meet me on the bridge at Central Park, hurry up I don’t have all day - K.’
“Sent the text, now we wait.” Kurt told Blaine. They were in Central Park too, not too far from where Finn was standing, not too close to be seen.
“I feel so nervous, Kurt. What if something goes wrong and make it worse?" Blaine asked sipping his coffee.
"Worse than Rachel trying her ring when she thinks she is alone and crying when she takes it off? Worse than Finn not doing anything but trying to change his dad’s status? Worse than Rachel telling the Finn star about her day? No, I think we waited long enough, Blaine."
“Oh, she’s coming!" Blaine interrupted him tugging on his sleeve.
Rachel kept walking and wondering why Kurt asked her to meet him here of all places, couldn’t he pick up their favorite coffee shop? Or the music shop? Hell, anything would have been better than this bridge.
Suddenly she stopped thinking because she spotted a young guy, all dressed up and she was sure she was having a dejuvù until she got closer and she recognized him “Finn…”
He didn’t say her name, actually he didn’t say anything, he just smiled like he was pleased to see her but didn’t know he was seeing her.
Rachel knew instantly that this had Kurt and Blaine written all over it but she didn’t care, she resumed walking till she got to him.
“Hi." Finn said shyly.
“Hi." she replied with a smile.
New York brought them together the first time around, New York separated them so it’d be only fitting that New Your would bring them back for another chance.
